VIEW FROM THE NANT YR ARIAN TRAILThis area of Wales is the stronghold of the Red Kite with up to 20% of the population nesting within the Forestry Commission woodlands. Red Kites are the easiest big raptor to spot with their distinctive large forked red tail.

How to get there:
Located 10 miles east of Aberystwyth on the A44, two miles west of Ponterwyd. The 525 bus from Aberystwyth to Ponterwyd stops at the car park entrance

What's of interest
Everyday at 2pm winter,3pm summer at Nant yr Arian the red kites are fed on the opposite side of the lake. The sight of these magnificent birds feeding is one to be remembered. There can be as many as 100 birds on a good day!
