HEDGEHOGA mature conifer forest with hidden gems such as the Nant Carn Valley with native woodland and stream habitat. A haven for birds. Ponds through the wood are a surprise encounter for those who walk off the beaten track.

Birds: Raven.

Insects and reptiles: Under the conifers "Wood Ant" nests can been seen, this species is fascinating to watch, but beware they do bite! So watch where you stand. Ponds throughout the woods are a surprising encounter for those who walk off the beaten track. These will have water boatmen, diving beetles and maybe tadpoles or newts.
