TREE CREEPERMathrafal woods are small woodlands in the Meifod valley offering walks and sites of historic interest.

Birds: In the heart of Montgomeryshire, Mathrafal is a mixed woodland of broadleaf and conifer and is host to many woodland species which include Nuthatch, Great Spotted Woodpecker and Treecreepers. Less common species such as the Willow tit and Marsh tit can also be found here.

How to Get There:
Mathrafal Woods are situated either side of the A495 (25 miles west of Oswestry)

What's of interest
In the Autumn, the woodland is filled with many different mushrooms and fungi in all sorts of shapes and colours. Within the woodland, two scheduled Iron Age forts are managed in agreement with CADW. An area is also designated as a SSSI for its Geological interest.
