A large easily accessible forest covering some 4000 hectares, there are numerous valleys and streams within the forest as well as some excellent vantage points which give panoramic views of the surrounding countyside.

Mammals: Badgers, roe Deer, Otters, Dormice, possibly pine martens, polecats, hares, foxes, bats(a number of bat species). We have information about Roe deer, Badger and Otter

Birds: Red Kite, Sparrowhawks, Peregrine, Goshawk, Buzzards, Kestrels, Ravens, WoodCock, Nightjar, Cuckoos, Barn owls, Little Owls, Woodpeckers (all 3), Goldcrest, Warblers,. We have information about Nightjar and Red kite

Insects and reptiles: Slow Worm, Grass Snake, Adders, A number of butterfly species, Red Wood Ants,. We have information about Adder

Habitats: Riparian Zones, Conifer Woodlands, Mixed Woodlands, Rides, Streams, Moorland edge, Ponds, bogs, Heathland. We have information about Upland oakwood

How to Get There:
Follow A483 NE from Llandovery for approx 4 miles. Take the road signed Tirabad for approx 3 miles. Esgair Fwyog and Brynffo car parks are on the right hand side of the road.
