MALE BLACK GROUSE (Tetrao tetrix) AT LEKFour waymarked walks begin from The Arch Picnic Site, through a variety of terrain. The view of the surrounding mountains of Mid-Wales from the Panorama Walk is incredible.

Birds: Black grouse may be spotted on the forest fringes where the moor meets the trees. The main areas to look for grouse are in the Myherin and Tarrenig blocks. These are upland plantations with large areas of open heathland and moorland habitats. The males are easy to recognise with their distinctive black feathers and lyre shaped tail in flight. The females, however, are less easy to distinguish between a red grouse which also inhabit the forest edges. We have information about Black grouse

How to get there:
Take the B4574 from Devil's Bridge to Cwmystwyth. The car park is just after the stone Arch on the left, approximately 3 kilometres from Devil's Bridge.
