OSPREYS - FEMALE AND YOUNG (Pandion haliaetus)Glentress forest is in the heart of the Tweed Valley Forest Park and is a one of the most diverse forests in south Scotland.

Come and marvel at the large mature Douglas Fir, amongst some of the oldest in Scotland!

The forest is set in a glen, hence the name. It changes with every season. Come and discover what wildlife is hiding in the deep undergrowth.

The River Tweed, famous for salmon, sits just below the forest and forms the backdrop for all the forests in the Tweed Valley Forest Park.

Pond and dragonflies

Discover the ponds, near the Red Squirrel Car Park, and see the display of dragonflies in the summer. Alternatively, take a trip to the Buzzards nest Car Park at the top of the forest, and see if you can see any flying. The forest offers stunning landscape of some the best areas to see wildlife in Scotland.
