PINE MARTINThe forest walks in Monaughty pass through some magnificent pine and Douglas fir trees, and provide spectacular views over the Vale of Pluscarden. They offer wonderful opportunities for seeing a great variery of wildlife.

Mammals: As well as the more common mammals, look out for the shy pine marten, a pinewood relative of stoats, weasels and mink. We have information about Red squirrel and Roe deer

Birds: Good for seeing small woodland birds and watching buzzards circling above the margins of the wood.

Habitats: We have information about Pinewood

How to get there:
By car - From Elgin take the B9010 Dallas road for 1 mile, then the Pluscarden minor road for a further 2.5 miles, where the Torrieston car park is on the right.
From Forres, take the B9010 Rafford/Dallas road for 4 miles,then the Pluscarden minor road. The Torreston car park is 2 miles beyond Pluscarden, on the left.
