COMMON RHODODENDRONInverarish forest is a mature, planted conifer forest interspersed with large, specimen trees and areas of rhododendron.

Mammals: Inverarish wood has the biggest area of trees on Raasay. It provides food and shelter for many woodland animals. Red deer shelter here in the winter especially. We have information about Red deer

Birds: The song of woodland birds in the spring and summer in Inverarish wood enhance the many woodland walks. Many of the common birds can be heard and seen like wren, robin, tits and woodpeckers etc. Look up in open areas to glimpse bigger birds of prey. We have information about Golden eagle and White-tailed eagle

Insects and reptiles: We have information about Pearl-bordered fritillary

How to get there:
From the ferry terminal on Raasay, follow the unclassified road north to Inverarish.
