VIEW OVER LOCH NESSThe carparks on the south side of Loch Ness in Erchite forest all have picnic tables, views and access to the lochside.
From this carpark, there is a view of Urquhart Casle on the other side of Loch Ness and a short walk to the ruin of the 'Change House', a nineteenth centuary staging post for travellers.

Mammals: Red squirrels can be seen crossing the road near the carparks, deer visit when things are quiet and, although difficult to see, otters and badgers are abundant along Loch Ness-side. We have information about Red squirrel, Red deer, Roe deer, Badger and Otter

Birds: There is access down to the loch from each of these carparks. This is great for looking at the birdlife on Loch Ness.

How to get there:
From Inverness, take the B862 to Dores, then the B852 to Inverfarigaig. There are seven carparks along this road. The largest is around five miles south of Dores.
There is an infrequent bus service between Inverness and Fort Augustus.
