SCOTTISH CROSSBILLS - MALE AND FEMALECaithness has an interesting variety of forests with amazing views across the North sea coast and over some of the extensive peatlands that characterise this area. The wildlife is very attracted to the variety of these forests and you can find Pine Marten, Merlin’s, Crossbills and Goldcrest. No doubt you are likely to spot a Roe deer or even a Buzzard circling as it looks for prey.

Follow A9 north, carrying straight on to the A99 for Wick for approximately four miles.
