VIEW OVER LOCH AWE AND DALAVICHBeautiful Lochaweside. The forests of Inverliever, Inverinan and Eredine set along side Scotland's longest inland loch offer a fantastic forest experience for all the family. Stretching a few muscles on one of the longer cycle trails; taking a gentle stroll through the Oakwood; enjoying a trek on horse back; relaxing, having a picnic and taking in the spectacular scenery or sitting by a loch hoping a fish will take the bait. There is a way for everyone to enjoy the forests of Loch Awe

Mammals: The diverse forest types found on Loch Awe are home to most of the woodland mammal species that can be found in Britain including pine marten, red squirrel, fox, red and roe deer, and otter. If you don't see the animals the observant eye should be able to recognise many of the tracks and signs and see where they have been. We have information about Red squirrel, Red deer, Roe deer, Badger and Otter

Birds: A treat for everyone, sometimes you wont even need binoculars to see the incredible range of birds that live in and visit the Loch Awe area. How many bird species can you identify during your visit? We have information about Golden eagle, White-tailed eagle, Black grouse and Osprey

Habitats: From mature conifer forest, open hill and moor land and the real jewel in the crown, some of Britains largest remnants of Atlantic oakwood; Loch Awe has a very diverse range of forest and habitat types. Our Atlantic oakwoods have survived through industrial times, and post glaciation they were the dominant woodland type up Britains western seaboard but now only fragments survive. Every year through positive conservation management we are increasing the area of this woodland type. We have information about Upland bog and Upland oakwood
