SILVER BIRCH LEAVES - AUTUMNThe woodland is made up of a predominatly mature conifer crop. The burn sides harbour native species such as birch, hazel and willow.

Guided visits to the viewing hide are available from 29th March . Advanced booking is essential as places fill up quickly.

Adults £5, children (16 and under) £2, family (2 adults and 2 children)£10. Free to island residents.

Opening times

Trips will provisionally run:
  • Sunday - Friday, 10am and 1pm.Trips last approximately 2hrs, although visitors are free to leave early if they wish.

    How to get there:
    From Craignure, follow the A848 north to Salen. Two miles north of Salen on the Tobermory road (A848), on the left-hand side is a turn off with a sign saying Lettermore. The Sea Eagle Hide Meeting point is one km along the forest road.
    From Tobermory, follow the A848 towards Salen for a distance of 11km. As you leave the coast to go inland on the right there is a turn off and a sign saying Lettermore. The Sea Eagle Hide Meeting point is one km along the forest road. Look for the 'Ranger-led Sea Eagle Trips' sign at the forest road junction.
