The woodland is made up of a predominatly mature conifer crop. The burn sides harbour native species such as birch, hazel and willow.

How to get there: From Craignure Follow the A848 north to Salen. 2 mile north of Salen on the Tobermory road(A848), on the left hand side is a turn off with a sign saying Lettermore. The Sea Eagle Hide Meeting point is point is 0.6 miles along the forest road.
From Tobermory Follow the A848 towards Salen for a distance of 7.2 miles. As you leave the coast to go inland on the right there is a turn off and a sign saying Lettermore.The Sea Eagle Hide Meeting point is 0.6 miles along the forest road.Look for the 'Ranger-led Sea Eagle Trips' sign at the forest road junction.
