About Glashan

Please note that due to recent storm damage all trails are closed at Glashan. We will notify you as soon as we can when they are to re-open. Sorry for the inconvenience (as at January 2012).

The combined walking and cycling trail around Loch Glashan is well worth the visit.

At the top of the narrow tarmaced forest road Glashan car park is the start for both cycling and walking trails beside Loch Glashan reservoir and into the heart of Kilmichael

Please note that there is currently Forest Operations taking place in Glashan. For your own safety, please be aware of timber lorries using the forest roads.

Please observe all prohibition and warning signs and wait until the lorries have loaded or until the driver has acknowledged your presence before passing.

How to get there:

Glashan is in Kilmichael Forest which is part of Kilmichael Forest.
From Lochgilphead, follow the A83 through Lochgair. The road leadling to Glashan is on the left about 200m beyond Lochgair power station.
Form Inveraray, follow the A83 through Minard. Glashan is about seven miles beyond Minard.
Lochgair is the nearest town or village.

Wildlife Activities The Add Ponds in the centre of Kilmichael Forest are a great place to see many diffent species of dragonfly and damselfly as well as lots of other water insects.
