GREEN WOODPECKEROpen all year. Full and half day programmes, designed in accordance with the National Curriculum, can be organised for your group by the education team. Wildlife themes and field visits are our speciality with observation area and wildlife garden avialable.

Mammals: Extensive range of real animal models avialable for visiting groups. Animal homes field visits and slide shows on offer all year. We have information about Fallow deer and Badger

Birds: Bird feeding station on site. We have information about Nightjar and Woodlark

Insects and reptiles: Collection of insects and reptiles on display.

Habitats: We have information about Pinewood and Lowland heath

How to get there:
Situated on the Birches Valley Road approximately 4 miles out of Rugeley. From Rugeley follow the Penkridge Bank Road for 3.5 miles until Birches Vally Road appears on your left. The classrooms are situated at the forest centre.
We are also pleased to announce our brand new Environmental Education Centre. This fantastic new bulding hosts 2 large classrooms with open views of the forest. Each room has wood burning stoves, natural lighting and a sedum roof.
