Wildlife at Micheldever Wood

Micheldever is the nearest town or village.

BRIMSTONEA predominantly beech wood with some conifer. There are many species of wildflowers and associated butterflies.

Mammals: There are Fallow deer and Roe deer in the wood. You may also see Hares among the plantation trees. We have information about Roe deer, Fallow deer and Badger

Birds: You may hear the call of buzzards overhead as well as many of the species of common woodland birds.

Habitats: Wildflowers are plentifull in the open grass areas, look for the pretty patches of crown vetch.

How to get there:
From Junction 9 on M3, travel north on A33, turn right on to Northington Lane. Car Park is half a mile down lane on left hand side.

There is a waymarked trail that goes from the car park and guides the visitor to sites of archaeological interest. The walk takes about 30 minutes, stout footwear required in wet conditions.
