Close to Northwich and Delamere and Linmere are the nearest towns or villages.

BEECH WOODLinmere Visitor centre offers the complete day out. The specially marked footpaths and cycle trails are carefully planned to guide visitors around this diverse forest. The Visitor Centre houses a relaxing cafe, shop, and the fantastic Shell Forest Classroom. There is plenty of parking and an exiting programme of "Whats On" events.

Habitats: Delamere Forest Park includes numerous meres and mosses the largest of which is Blakemere. Four of these are Sites of Special Scientific Interest and one is a candidate Special Area of Conservation. We have information about Lowland heath and Lowland bog

How to get there:
Situated approximately 10 miles from the outskirts of Chester and close to the M56. The Forest Park and Visitor centre are well sign posted from the A54, A556, and B5152.
BY RAIL: Delamere station is situated just 5 minutes walk from the Linmere Visitor Centre.

The Visitor Centre staff are happy to provide detailed local information and a wide range of gifts. Open all year except Christmas Day

The cafe is the ideal place to come for delicious hot and cold refreshments after a visit to the forest.

Annual parking permit is available from 1st April at a cost of £20.00

The Shell forest classroom is fully equipped to accomodate up to 35 people and houses a range of displays including a bird watching window. The team offer a unique outdoor learning experience all year round that can be tailored to the needs of any group.

Delamere Touring Park, adjacent to the forest and Delamere railway station is due to open in Spring 2007. Further details can be found on their website www.delameretouringpark.com
