If you go walking etc. in Glentress, make sure you have an up to date issue of the Forestry Commission leaflet "Tweed Valley Forest Park". The 2011 issue is OK, but the 2009 one has all the Glentress waymarking post numbers wrong. Confused me during a 10 mile run there today!

Pros: Fantastic, well irrigated bike trails, Great views for walkers, commission staff all helpful and friendly. (even took my flatmate down the fireroad when his shoulder popped out) Cons: The freeride park fills with inexperienced children in the summer which is dangerous for both the experienced and inexperienced. Perhaps larger signs of potential injuries could be used to advise lax parents? This would ultimately secure children's safety and secure the continued use of the freeride park
