About Tentsmuir
Visit Tentsmuir and you are following in the footsteps of the first people who settled here 8000 years ago.
The western area of Tentsmuir, around Morton Lochs, is one of the oldest occupied sites in Scotland.
Towering trees, rolling dunes, shifting sands and an amazing array of wildlife, all combine to make Tentsmuir a magical place to explore. Waymarked trails throughout Tentsmuir Forest are a great way to explore, on foot or by bike.
As well as being a working forest, the woodland provides an important habitat for all kinds of wildlife, including red squirrels and roe deer. Walk along the beach to Tentsmuir Point and you may see dozens of seals basking on the sandbars.
