About Craigvinean

Storm damage clear up in Tay Forest Park has now progressed well, however trails at Allean and Craigvinean remain closed (Updated 28th May 2012)

Empire of the larch

These woods, initially created by the Dukes of Atholl, have attracted visitors since Victorian times. You can still enjoy the follies at Torryvald, and viewpoints reached by walks through ‘cathedrals’ of now great trees.

Make sure you visit the unique timber built pine cone for stunning views up Strathtay and to the mountains beyond.  Pine cone point is accessible for electric wheelchairs. For further details see: www.walkingonwheels.org/pineconepoint.html

Wildlife

Look out for goshawks hunting at the woodland edge, capercaillie, and red squirrels among the trees.
