Welcome to Culbin. This is no ordinary forest and Culbin's fragile shoreline is no ordinary coast.
The Wellhill car park gives direct access to the spectacular Hill 99 trail and the rest of the forest. Leaflets, including a map of the forest, are available here, along with toilet facilities.

How to get there:
Culbin is in Forests of Moray and Aberdeenshire.
By car from Forres take the A96 west to the Findhorn bridge, then follow the Culbin Forest signs towards Kintessack (three miles) and then Wellhill.
By car from Nairn take the A96 east to Brodie, turn left over the railway and follow the Culbin Forest signs along the unclassified roads to Cloddymoss and Kintessack. Wellhill is one mile beyond Kintessack.
By train: The nearest station is Forres, three miles from Wellhill on foot, or a ten minute taxi-ride.
By bus: Local buses run from Forres to Dyke and Kintessack, villages close to Wellhill, on schooldays, Tuesdays and Fridays. Just ask the driver or any other passenger for advice on the best place to walk from.
By bike: National Cycle Route 1 runs through the south side of Culbin, around 800 metres from the main car park at Wellhill.
Forres, Nairn, and Kinloss are the nearest towns or villages.

Culbin's flat landscape provides ideal roads for family cycling. |

Culbin’s wide range of tracks, trails and paths provides a wonderful choice for riders. Cloddymoss has the best access for horse-boxes and from there you can either head east towards Findhorn Bay and Buckie Loch, or west towards the less-visited Nairn end (but please avoid the fragile saltmarshes). |

The diverse range of habitats and unique history make Culbin an ideal place for your school's environmental education visits. |
