About Slattadale

Slattadale Forest is situated beside the western shores of Loch Maree about half way between Gairloch and Kinlochewe, and close to the Ben Eighe National Nature Reserve.

The forest is mainly comprised of mixed conifer trees with important pockets of ancient oak and birch woodland.

Managed as part of the national forest estate Eilean Ruairidh Mor holds a pristine remnant of ancient Caledonian Pinewood.

How to get there:

Gairloch and Kinlochewe are the nearest towns or villages.

Slattadale Forest straddles the A832 road which runs between Kinlochewe and Gairloch in Wester Ross.

The woodland is located beside beautiful Loch Maree with stunning views over the loch to Slioch and the Fisherfield hills.

There is a bus service which runs between Gairloch and Inverness.
