About Butterfly Reserve Car Park

This is the starting point for visiting the Allt Mhuic Nature Reserve.

The car park is approximately 10 miles from Spean Bridge and is accessible by car only. It lies close to the Loch side with car parking for up to six cars. 

To get here, From the Commando Memorial by Spean Bridge, take the B8005 from Gairlochy. Much of the road is single track and care should be taken on these sections.

There are harvesting operations ongoing in this area. Please obey any signs.

How to get there:

Butterfly Reserve Car Park is in Loch Arkaig.
By road from Spean Bridge, follow the A82 north. At the Commando Memorial, approximately one mile north of Spean Bridge, turn left onto the B8004.
Follow this road over Caledonian Canal at Garlochy then turn right onto the B8005. Follow this road for approximately 10 miles.
Spean Bridge and Fort William are the nearest towns or villages.
