Plodda Falls Carpark

About Plodda Falls Carpark

Following the installation of a new viewing platform, the Plodda Falls walks and  platform are now open to the public once more.

Plodda Falls has a small car park set amongst trees adjacent to the forest track that goes to Cougie.

From here, there are two circular, waymarked walks which go to Plodda Falls - the Tweedmouth Walk and the shorter Falls Walk. Please take care as the footpaths are a little rough.

You can also use connecting forest roads to make longer walks through different parts of the forest and to other areas.

The ruins of Guisachan House - built by Lord Tweedmouth but dismantled in 1939 - are still visible from the forest track on the way to the carpark.

How to get there:

Plodda Falls Carpark is in Plodda which is part of Guisachan.
From the A831, from either Beauly or Drumnadrochit, take the unclassified road signposted to Tomich. Go through Tomich and continue along the bumpy forest track. Plodda falls carpark is 3.5 miles along this road.
There is an infrequent bus service from Inverness as far as Tomich.
Tomich, Cannich, Struy, Balnain, Drumnadrochit, and Inverness are the nearest towns or villages.

The new viewing platform is great - a fantastic view from the top of the falls.
