About Allt na Criche Carpark
Allt na Criche is situated opposite Cherry Island near the southern end of Loch Ness.
From here there is one waymarked walk, the Allt na Criche walk.
Cherry Island is the only island found on Loch Ness. It is a man-made 'Crannog' built around 3,000 years ago.
How to get there:
Allt na Criche Carpark is in Port Clair which is part of Great Glen Forest.
Allt na Criche carpark is adjacent to the A82, just over one mile north of Fort Augustus.
There is a bus service from Inverness and Fort Augustus that stops at the main villages on the route and will also stop on request at sensible stopping places.
Fort Augustus, Invermoriston, Drumnadrochit, and Inverness are the nearest towns or villages.
