About Great Glen Forest
The Great Glen Forest provides a very attractive backdrop to one of the most famous glens in the Scottish Highlands.
It runs from Inverness in the east to Fort William in the west.
Great Glen Way
Part of the Great Glen Way runs through these forests, which are listed below. Look out for distinctive stone and timber structures which were put in place as part of The Great Glen Ways Initiative.
The Glen has many famous landmarks including the Caledonian Canal and Loch Ness.
How to get there:
Inverness, Fort Augustus, Drumnadrochit, Glen Moriston, Inverfarigaig, Foyers, and Whitebridge are the nearest towns or villages.
The Great Glen forest is along both sides of the Great Glen off the A82, the B852, B862 from Inverness and Fort Augustus.
