CAN YOU PROVIDE ANY UPDATE ON WHETHER THE LOCHAN WILL BE STOCKED AND WHEN IT WILL BE OPEN TO DECENT FISHERMEN WHO PAY FOR PERMITS AND HAVE SPENT MANY HAPPY DAYS THERE

CAMERON, 29/Mar/2012

Unfortunatley the last parties to manage the fishing on the lochan's did not consider it to be viable - and since then there have been no other expressions of interest.

Hoping reports that the Leaseholders to the fishing rights are giving are not true, if they are will the F.C. take over the running of the fishing at the Lochan again as they had in previous years or will a new leaseholder be sought

Bill, 8/Jan/2012

The holders of the fishing lease have decided not to renew their lease. Financially the number of permits sold did not cover costs - and leaseholders were contiunally finding people fishing without permission. We're still open to expressions of interest. These must come with detailed proposals on how the interested party will manage the fishery

Have heard a nasty rumoour that F.C.will no longer be stocking the Lochan and indeed are looking to lease the fishing rights. Can you advise.

We are currently advertising locally for an interested party to take over the Lochan fishery, which will bring it in line with other fisheries on Forestry Commission Scotland sites across the country.
