Glencoe Lochan

About Glencoe Lochan

The woodland was planted by Lord Strathcona in the nineteenth century in an attempt to recreate the Pacific NorthWest for his homesick native-American wife. A lochan nestles in the centre of the wood surrounded by majestic conifers and rugged mountains.

How to get there:

Glencoe Lochan is part of Glencoe. Glencoe is the nearest town or village.

Turn off the A82(T) at Glencoe village. Pass through the village and over the River Coe bridge. The entrance to the woodland is signposted on your left a short distance later.

i went fishing there last year for first time,great vistas,didnt catch anything ,was wondering what is the best way to fish it and when does it open

Lovely place, I come here quite alot, I love it. Coming this weekend, cannot wait. Jim will be fishing again. I used to to alot of hill-walking here when i was younger, teens and in my twenties, and I still love it at 32 with my two girls. They love it also. Fantastic weekends or weeks away at any time of year. :)
