This area is designated as a European Special Protection Area because of the rich variety of habitats.
There are spectacular views over the Dornoch Firth and the Cromarty Firth.
There are open access maps showing forest roads and the best viewpoints available from North Highland Forest District.
How to get there:
Morangie Forest is part of Easter Ross. Tain is the nearest town or village.
From the A9 Tain bypass, take the road signposted 'Scotsburn'. About two miles along this road turn right, following Forestry Commission signs for forest walk.
