About Wyre Forest

Historic Wyre Forest offers visitors a range of woodland walks and trails amongst beautiful ancient oaks woods and statuesque fir trees.

6,000 acres is all that survives of a wood that once stretched along the Severn Valley from Worcester to Bridgnorth. It is one of the largest remaining ancient woodlands in Britain. Much of the area is designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI)and many rare species of flora and fauna can be found here.

How to get there:

Wyre Forest is part of Wyre Forest Area Woodlands. Bewdley and Kidderminster are the nearest towns or villages.

The Forestry Commission Wyre Forest Visitor Centre is located at Callow Hill 3 miles west of Bewdley on the A456. The site is well sign-posted. Nearest train station is Kidderminster.Bus routes 192/292 between Birmingham and Ludlow.

not that easy as a manual wheelchair user, though the woods are lovely, just being able to listen to all the different birds.
