About Postern Hill Picnic Site

Postern Hill is a large site set amongst mature oak trees. There is ample parking and a large open area with picnic tables and BBQ's.

For 2012 there will be four bbq's available, these will be at sites 2,7,8 and 10.  Stones will replace the remainder of hearths, please place your disposable bbq's on these.

Please note the four BBQ's will be free to use on a first come, first served basis.

How to get there:

Postern Hill Picnic Site is in Savernake which is part of Marlborough Woodlands.
Via M4, take junction 15 and the A346 through Marlborough and on towards Burbage. Postern Hill is signposted on the left hand side.
Marlborough is the nearest town or village.

Enquiries about recreational facilities and activities should be directed to the Forestry Commission office using the contact shown below. The toilet block is closed during the winter period.

Please note no overnight camping allowed on picnic site.

This is a great place and a lovely day out for all ages, the children love to emplore the area. We have been having the annual family BBQ's for many years and always go back to Savernake.

Great place for BBQ and picnic as teh space allows you to do whatever you like including football, mountain biking, rounders, walks in the forrest etc etc. Everything is nice tidy and the atmosphere is so relaxed
