I love the woods, but there are no dog poo bins; Some off-lead dogs are not under control, and yesterday(Sun.) about 5pm there were teenagers on motor-scooters roaring up and down the paths. It ruined the peace.Maybe a sign or two and a dog poo bin?! People just don't want to carry poo home in the car!!

Beautiful woodland but I agree strongly about the UNSILENCED MOTORBIKES not only a hazard to walkers and dogs/children but also disturbing the wildlife, such as mice, buzzards, owls and deer, all of which we have seen (when the bikes weren't around).

Would really appreciate a map of the main paths!

What's of interest

Stane Street, a Roman road, runs through the wood north to south. Roe and Fallow deer are present in the wood. Butterflies can also be seen flying in the late spring and summer.
