About Tackeroo Caravan Site

Tackeroo opens 9am Friday 30th March

This Class B site is the ideal place to come and relax with only the deer for company. Freely drained hard standing pitches, running water, and sanilav/rubbish disposal points facilites avaliable on site. Birches Valley Forest Centre is short drive away.

£10 per pitch, per night (a pitch includes 1 vehicle / 1 camping facility / 1 awning / 1 small tent). A ranger will come around daily for payment, usually around breakfast or dinner time, pitches cannot be pre-booked.

How to get there:

Tackeroo Caravan Site is in Cannock Forest.
3 miles from Rugeley - From the A51 turn into the Hagley Road (@ The Hagley Newsagent), which then moves into the Penkridge Bank Road
Rugeley is the nearest town or village.

Activities

Walking The blue graded lesiure trail runs through tackeroo. Suiteable for both bikes and walkers, heading south you will reach the Fairoak valley, a beautiful walk or further still the community arts trail.
Cycling Tackeroo has the red graded cross country mountain bike trail running through it, suiteable for experience riders.
Follow The Dog
Camping Tents are allowed but must but must have a separate toilet tent or be accompanying a caravan with toilet facilities.
Orienteering Located within 5 minutes walk of Pepperslade permanent orienteering course. Maps avaliable from the Birches Valley Forest Office Mon - Fri 8am to 4pm
Barbecue only BBQ raised off the ground are permitted. OPEN FIRES ARE PROHIBITED.

GREAT SITE, IN THE MIDDLE OF THE FOREST, GREAT FOR WALKING N CYCLING. QUIET AT NIGHT, LOTS OF WILDLIFE, SPENT 11, 12 AND 13TH OF MAY 2012 THERE, WILL GO BACK AGAIN.

Price has doubled this summer compared to last summer !! It is in a good location for cycling however it would be better if the price rmained as it was at ■5 like summer 2011. I would have definitely came to the campsite aug 2011 if the price was the same but it is too expensive at the moment for what is on offer there. If I was running it, I would reduce price back to cater for cyclists who just sleep there and then use trail in day because the trail us free of charge

we have been using the site for years but stopped when portaloos & seasonal pitches appeared. now its back as it was we love it again,you go to get away from it all. never had any trouble with racers or junkies just peace & nature and the rangers are very friendly
