been on a couple of events recently at KCW. One was a consevation event clearing woodlands. very educational as well as a great way to work up a sweat. The other was a Halooween Horrors event for the children which was very enjoyable. The woodland is a fabulous local resource and the events serve to get the community involved in it's use and upkeep.

The Halloween Horrors event was fantastic fun with the kiddies. There were games for children of varying ages, and encouraged the family to traverse around the pit whilst doing the mental challenges. And, there was even a pumpkin for the kiddies to carve at the end! Thank you for hosting an event to break up the monotony of half term, and giving it the added fun of Halloween!

What's of interest

The pit-head bathhouse, built in 1938, and old colliery offices, built in 1875, are the only reminders of the site's previous history and both are now Listed buildings.
