Brendon Hills

About Brendon Hills

Now an area of farmland and forestry, you can still find evidence of an industrial past in the Brendon Hills, when iron ore was mined and transported down a steep incline to Watchet, and sent to be smelted in the Welsh valleys. This distant past is brought to life by the West Somerset Mineral Railway Project.

You can explore the forests of the Brendon Hills from Chargot or Kennisham.

How to get there:

Luxborough, Dunster, and Minehead are the nearest towns or villages.

The Brendon Hills are found south of Minehead and east of Exmoor, on the B3224.
