The way marked walking trails meander through some of the oldest parts of the forest. There are also many other tracks and trails to be explored.

There are several play areas to entertain the kids of all ages.  The visitor area has a cafe, toilets, cycle hire.

You can also Go Ape! and have some fun in the forest at the UK’s No.1 Tree Top Adventure.

I ride regularly at Sherwood Pines and I have observed the terrific efforts made to improve the place. The red route is just over 10 miles of fast flowing fun, and now the drainage and trail armouring has settled down, it's fun all year round (apart from a few short sections that I'm sure you will be fixing in 2012). There were several new sections added to the red route, either as substitutions or additions during 2011 and they all work very well. The bike park is a ver nice addition, although now the latest section diverts past it, some signposts are needed to help newbies find it. I have rode with people who have Dalby Forest, Cannock Chase or the Peaks District on their doorstep and they all like Pines! Great stuff! Oh and well done for installing a bike wash.

A great day out! Love the blue run, although not to taxing, so good for people who want a little more than a trail. Red route is single track and twisty in places but great for beginners, and for those that want to learn a little more about single track handling. And at ■3 parking for the day, what more can you want??!
