We walk our dog most days in this wood. I have just returned after twice being confronted by a large group of mountain bikers on the blue trail. On being told that this was for walkers only the leader told me he had helped to 'cut' the path and that he would go where he liked. This action and attitude not only spoils the peace and safety for walkers but churns up the path as well. These people were obviously a club and I feel they should be told to use some of the many routes available to them.

these woods are such a popular and accessible place for people to enjoy with horses, dogs, bikes and boots. the refreshments are excellent. how could anyone consider selling this woodland and deprive the public of their heritage!

Great place to walk (with or without dogs) and catering at Longdale is really good. Found some of the way markers slightly confusing or hidden, may be better if there was some way of marking the direction back to the car parks
