Visited Wooler Common with my family whilst on holiday. Although the walk and views were fantastic it was spoilt by large quantities of dog mess. This looked like it had been going on for a while an looks like it is happening on a regular basis (not just a seasonal problem) It was all over the grass and even on the path itself. I saw that there had been an effort to encourage people to pick up after their dogs with posters and dog bin but this hadnt stopped it. The children wanted to read the information signs about the trees but I wouldn't let them on the grass in case they stood in something. It's a shame as I would have given it a 5 star rating otherwise. If anyone was visiting the area I wouldn't recommend it, not in its present state.
