As a riding visitor and local too I am impressed by the super tracks and the clear pathway round the forrest however after following a blue arrow across a field I suddenly found myself in the middle of nowhere and the trail ran out. I was an hour away from the forrest near an old swan bridleway but am still none the wiser where the circular route stopped? My horse was tired and I had no direction as many of the round signs were old and undefined. I had to back track for over an hour to get home. Bit un-nerving frankly.

This was our first visit to Salcey Forrest and we loved it, lovely walks suitable for pushchairs a nice cafe and plenty of parking. We did have one gripe though, there is a desperate need to install dog poo bins along the walks, we not only found ourselves dodging dog poo itself but also noticed an abundance of bags of poo that had kindly been picked up only to find that there is nowhere to put it, poo bags in the trees up high and in bushes etc!!!
