About May Beck

May Beck is a small but popular picnic place. An open setting with sheep grazed grass turf leads down to the stony little stream of May Beck. Paths lead from here to Falling Foss and through the forest on to the moors.

How to get there:

May Beck is in Sneaton Forest.
Follow the B1416 road from Whitby crossing the River Esk at Ruswarp. About 3 miles south of here the road turns sharply to the east. On the bend is a minor road signed May Beck crosses a cattle grid. Follow this road to for about one and a half miles to the park and picnic area.
Whitby is the nearest town or village.
