About Crosscliff
Crosscliff is an area surrounded by by pine trees amongst which are the remains of Dargate Dikes an ancient earthwork created before the Dark Ages. A short walk through the trees brings you to the edge of the plateau with fine views of the adjacent Langdale Forest and the North York Moors. Crosscliff Viewpoint provides an outstanding panorama of an ice-age sculpted landscape. Blakey Topping a lonely hill off to the west is reputed to have been created by a giant!
PLEASE NOTE - Crosscliff View Trail is fully open but please beware that there are hanging branches over head.
