About Gribdale Gate

A popular carpark and picnic spot for walks up to Captain Cooks monument or further afield.

How to get there:

Gribdale Gate is in Coate Moor Wood.
Leave the main A173 on entering Great Ayton taking the road that leads through the village centre. Watch for a minor road, Station Road and signs for Gribdale Terrace. Take this road and passing Gribdale Terrace on your right drive over the brow of the hill. The car park is on the right of the road.
Great Ayton is the nearest town or village.

This is a fantastic walk up to Captain Cook's Monument. Great views and easy enough for kids too.
