While running in Clowes Wood near the back of Radfall Ride, I saw some idiot on a quad bike speeding through the wood. He also had two little children sitting at the front as well! There are no signs up in that part of the wood telling people that motorbikes/quad bikes etc are not allowed. This seems to be a problem in many of the woods in the area. I have also encountered trial bikes before and on a couple of occasions when I have said something to these people was greeted with abuse. I know its very difficult to stop these people but at least if there was some signage that would help.

Really needs some better signage and the potholes filling in. Also the height marking on the entrance barrier is missing - could be a close call for some vehicles !!

Agree with those who recommend some maps and signage. We wanted to explore further but weren't quite sure how to avoid becoming lost!

The Crab and Winkle railway line used to run through Clowes Wood, it was the first regular steam passenger railway in the world. It opened on the 3rd of May 1830 and is now a cycle and footpath route.
