The landscape of the Forest is dominated by limestone ridges. The sometimes steep slopes and moderate height of the forest provides magnificent views in clear weather.

We did the Blackpool loop on a Sunday afternoon. Easy to manage, good signposting that was easy to follow. Hope to return soon to do the other walks.

Free parking and trail well marked so a great start! We did the Climbing Jack Trail on a gloomy Bank Holiday Sunday but it was well worth the effort. Fantastic views but no wildlife - probably due to the hundreds of orienteers hurtling about in the style of a Benny Hill clip. That said, great to see everyone enjoying such a beautiful spot.
