If you are looking for somewhere to picnic or play games this extensive sunny site is ideal, with easy walks along the nearby Ober Water stream. Wear the children out running around Whitefield Moor, then go for a shady picnic by the tranquil Ober Water stream.

How to get there:

Whitefield Moor is in New Forest.
By car: From Brockenhurst follow the signs to the Rhinefield Drive, Go past the turning for Aldridge Hill campsite and Whitefield Moor car park is the next turning on the right handside.
Brockenhurst is the nearest town or village.

Activities

Walking From the car park there are two way marked trails along gravel tracks. The route passes through a variety of habitats of the Ober Valley including heathland, grassland, woodland nad the stream itself. Graded as moderate smooth, the surface is reasonably smooth with some steeper sections.

Fishing Coarse fishing in the New Forest is available at Hatchet Pond. A Forestry Commission fishing permit is required along with a rod license. For more information on Fishing in the New Forest please click on the link for Coarse Fishing under related pages.
Camping Information on camping in the New Forest can be obtained from Forest holidays either by clicking on the Forest holidays link to the right of the page, or by calling them on 0845 130 8224. ****Please note that wild camping is not allowed in the New Forest. Only use the designated campsites. We also recommend that you book your pitch in advance as the campsites can become very busy in the holiday periods.****
Barbecue You can use raised portable BBQs at this site. Please refer to the BBQ link to the right for futher information. Disposable BBQs are not permitted at this site. Please use the special picnic tables at either Bolderwood or Blackwater if you wish to use a disposable BBQ
Picnic Bring a rug and have your picnic sat on the green and enjoy the sun.

5/2/12 we went to Whitefield moor CP and did the walk either side of the Ober water over the road and into the wood. On returning my partner noticed the pay and display machine, now I lead walks for a group and the 3 miles we did would be perfect for the shorter walking days but the members would not want to pay for parking.

hoping to go but need better directions on how to get there. It woulld be helpful to have more infor on this website - it's a bit vague.

What's of interest

Two circular walks can be accessed from this car park. The red trail is 1 mile long and the yellow trail is 1.5 miles long. The Paths are a mixture of moderatly smooth gravelled surfaces and compacted grassy gorund with some gentle slopes and a few resting places.
