Nestled in the trees, this shady car park is the perfect spot to enjoy a picnic whilst listening to the sounds of woodland wildlife all around.

How to get there:

Anderwood is in New Forest.
By road: From Lyndhurst take the A35 towards Christchurch. Approximately 3 miles west of Lyndhurst pass the turnings into the Boldwerood and Rhinefield Drives, take the next turning on the right off the A35 towards Burley. Anderwood is the first car park on the right, 3/4 of a mile along this road.
Burley is the nearest town or village.

Camping Information on camping in the New Forest can be obtained from Forest holidays either by clicking on the Forest holidays link to the right of the page, or by calling them on 0845 130 8224. ****Please note that wild camping is not allowed in the New Forest. Only use the designated campsties. We also recommend that you book your pitch in advance as the campsites can become very busy in the holiday periods.****
Barbecue You can use raised portable BBQs at this site. Please refer to the BBQ link to the right for futher information. Disposable BBQs are not permitted at this site. Please use the special picnic tables at either Bolderwood or Blackwater if you wish to use a disposable BBQ

We used this BBQ site for a small charity walk last year. The surrounding forest area is beautiful and ample for a good walk and the facilities are very good. Note: Like someone has mentioned already the link to "Barbeques in the New Forest" is currently broken on this web page to book the BBQ site. We have booked it again to use this this year, all I did was phone 02380 283141 and they put me through to the correct department to book.

What's of interest

DISPOSABLE BBQS can only be used at Blackwater and Bolderwood car parks. The picnic areas at these sites have a limited number of specially designed tables, with metal plates, for the BBQs to sit on.
