Mallards Pike Lake

(Average user rating5 unrated 4.8/5)

About Mallards Pike Lake

The two lakes were constructed by the Forestry Commission for use by local people. The upper lake is designated as a nature reserve and the lower lake for leisure activities. They are now a popular attraction for visitors far and wide.

There is an easy access lakeside path with benches dotted alongside, offering good vantage points for watching mandarins and other ducks.  Dogs are welcome to take a swim from the signed dog dip area. The lower lake can be booked by groups for boating activities, sorry no individuals allowed and no swimming is permitted.

The family cycle trail links through to the site and there is a waymarked 5km running route starting near the Go Ape cabin.

Go Ape is a tree-top adventure course of rope bridges, Tarzan swings and zip slides up to 35 feet above the forest floor. You’ll enjoy around 3 hours of fun and adventure up in the trees. The Go Ape experience in the forest is a must do adventure for families and groups, young and old.  Have a look at Go Ape for further details.
