About Butchershole

This small car park provides access to the attractive eastern edge of Friston, and for the more energetic, access up onto the downland grass areas. Early risers will see the local race horses training and listen to the numerous sky larks.

LeaveButchershole alone!!! It doesn't need toilets,a kids trail etc! Our daughter grew up having walks there with our dogs&loved every minute! Stop destroying natural beauty&make your own entertainment!

The Butchers■ hole car park was closed late last year [ 2011] for road repairs. We were disappointed when after x2 weeks the area was re-opened and there had been little change? There are still holes in the road area. What was done is not evident!! It would be useful if the main path up the hill to the downs area was surfaced with fine shingle, as it is a complete mud bath getting up there at most times of the winter season. I agree with the feed back already commented on, a toilet would be welcomed. It is such a beautiful space, please consider making these changes

i agree with the comments from anonymous comments dated 15 august 2010. It would be nice to have some toilet facilities at butchershole as they have at the other parts of friston forest especially when you spend most of the day there in the summer with family young and old. and i have used the forest for many years and it is becoming more widely used by dog owners who do not pick up after there dog and when you have young children and buggies it is not hygenic at all and a nightmare to clean up if trodden in mess. i also think there should be more done tom address the problem of lazy dog owners, it would also be good for children to have an activity trail around the forest or fitness trail would be great for all ages????? just as a suggestion to keep up with the times.
