About Abbots Wood Car Park

Surrounding the car park are facilities including an adventure play area, barbecues and a picnic site leading to forest walks. There is also a large grass area for ball games. Visitors are reminded to pay and display and to observe the changing car park locking times throughout the year.

Barbecues
We do not allow you to bring your own barbecue on to site and disposable barbecues are not permitted.
There are two free barbecues on site, which are provided on a first come first served basis.
There are also two bookable barbecues are available to hire for the day for groups. Please ring 01580 213044 to check availability and to make a booking.
You need to provide your own charcoal and Pay & Display parking charges still apply. Barbecues must be fully extinguished when you leave the site.

Horse Riding
Annual riding permits are available from Toll Rides (Off-Road) Trust.

Discovery Pass

Wildlife Activities By following the Abbots Amble trail you will come across the lake. On which water fowl and dragonflies can be seen. Abbots Wood is an important area for butterfly and Dormouse conservation.

abbots wood is a beautiful woodland area that we particularly enjoy with our dogs. We love visiting at all times of the year to see the seasonal changes. It's great for the whole family to enjoy whatever their age or ability.
