We looked for information on the walking route at a local campsite CC, no leaflet was available just a poster, we decided from the description it should be easy to follow the marker posts coded red, we set off anti-clockwise from the car park, after a short while we arived at a junction in the path with no red marker in sight we opted to go left and after 500m we found a red marker and continued this poor marking just got worse and after nearly an hour we had not seen a red marker for at least a 1Km, with no map and only cycle markers in all directions we tried to find a track which led back to the car park, after nearly 2 hours and nearly dark we found the car for a walk that should have taken 40mins. Very poor information !! not for the faint hearted, signage needs to be updated and improved very poor show Forestry Commission.

I desperately want to bring my children cycling here but am concerned about the travellers dogs as we have had an attack by dogs whilst cycling before...and it is not something I want my children to witness again...can anyone tell me where the travellers are according to the sika trail map? then perhaps we can use the forest and avoid being eaten!
