About Wistlandpound

Wistlandpound, established over forty years ago, is in an attractive sheltered setting and surrounds an impressive 40 acre reservoir. Managed jointly with South West Lakes Trust it is a good place to go fishing, have a picnic or go for a gentle stroll.

A recent project undertaken with the Calvert Trust, South West Lakes Trust, and the Forestry Commission has lead to the construction of the all-ability 'Challenge Trail' and 'Discovery Trail' alongside a brand new Discovery Centre. Everything has been designed to offer a range of physical activities to the user, as well as being fun and intuitive to use.

You can contact the Discovery Centre on the number (below right) or e-mail info@discoverwistlandpound.org.uk.

How to get there:

Barnstaple, Ilfracombe, Lynton, and Blackmoor Gate are the nearest towns or villages.

Travelling on the A39 between Barnstaple and Lynton or the A399 from Ilfracome/Combe Martin, at Blackmoor Gate junction take the A399 towards South Molton. After 3/4 miles turn right (signposted Wistlandpound reservoir) and follow for 1 mile to find carpark on the left.
